B i o g r a p h y

Amanda is a native of Kokomo, Indiana, where she started her love of music with years of piano and voice training. She received a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance at Indiana University in 2012, where she studied under Patricia Stiles, and coaches Gary Arvin and Sylvia McNair. She performed in several productions with the Indiana University Opera Theater, including Die Zauberflöte, Die Fledermaus, Suor Angelica, Così fan tutte, Candide, and Don Giovanni.

 Amanda received her Masters in Voice Performance and Literature at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. At U of I, Amanda studied with Yvonne Gonzales Redman, and coached under Julie Gunn and Michael Tilley. She has been seen in Lyric Theatre @ Illinois' productions of The Merry Widow (Hanna) and Beatrice et Benedict (Beatrice). She was also a performer in a master class for soprano Renée Fleming in February of 2015. Amanda most recently studied classical voice with Pamela Hinchman in Chicago, IL.


Along with her mainstage lead roles, Amanda has prepared an operatic repertoire from a large variety of eras and styles. A few highlights include Don Giovanni (Donna Elvira) and Rusalka (Rusalka). She is also well-versed in music theater, having performed roles such as Lucinda (Into the Woods), Hope Cladwell (Urinetown), and Audrey (Little Shop of Horrors). In addition to opera and musical theater, Amanda has rediscovered her love of classical art song, having completed her masters thesis based on some works of Schubert, Strauss, Poulenc, and Debussy. Amanda has also had the great honor of performing in an ensemble for the late Honorable Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg. In addition to singing, Amanda has formerly studied piano, French horn, and harp.

Amanda currently resides in Chicago, IL where her love of music grows daily. She continues her study and practice of classical singing, as well as songwriting and performing her own original songs at open mic opportunities across the city. Though many opportunities to perform music in public are limited right now due to COVID-19, Amanda persists with her desire to share this art form that she loves so dearly.
